We’re always happy to upgrade your switchboard because it means protection, it’s about protection for you and your family from the dangers of electricity. Upgrading your switchboard will maximise your safety at your home or workplace, keeping everyone safe from electrocution and electrical fires. With a new switchboard upgrade you will also be saving money. Safety switches are made to trip off your power supply whenever there is a risk of electrocution. If your switchboard is older than 2018 you and your family may not be completely protected against electrocution. In 2018 the AS/NZ “wiring rules” was updated, the first time since 2007 and in doing so making it mandatory for ALL circuits installed in domestic or residential abodes to be protected by RCD (Residual Current Device) otherwise known as a “safety switch”.
Most electrical switchboards older than 2018 are not completely protected against electrocution.
In 2018 the new updated version of AS/NZ 3000:2018 was released with one of the biggest updates being that ALL circuits in a domestic or residential installation must be protected by a RCD (Residual Current Device) also known as a safety switch.
